C-Bank to issue many new jubilee and commemorative coins in 2009
The National Bank of Moldova will issue 6 new jubilee and commemorative coins, as a payment means, and for numismatic purposes, in 2009. The government accepted there theme, by endorsing a decision, on Wednesday, December 10, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Thus, according to the Action Plan for organizing the 650th anniversary since the foundation of the Moldavian State, coins on the following themes will be issued: Moldova – 650 years; Chronicles of Moldavia; Vasile Lupu’s law - the first Code of laws of Moldavia; Christianity in Moldavia.
The topic about coins represents a foray in the past of the Moldovan people, regarding the first chronicles, which attested the formation of the Moldavian country, the appearance of the first Moldavian law, as well as the evolution of Christianity in Moldavia.
The event also includes completing the series “Holidays, culture, traditions,” with a commemorative coin, which will reflect one of the most ancient popular arts – “The popular tradition – weaving.”
The series “The Moldovan monuments” will be added the commemorative coin “The Rudi point of the Struve Geodetic Arch.” This monument is included in the Registry of the monuments protected by state, and in the list of the UNESCO's world heritage.
