C-Bank has new deputy governor

The Parliament has endorsed the appointment of Emma Tabarta as a deputy governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) and as the deputy chairwoman of the BNM's board for a 7-year term, Info-Prim Neo reports. Emma Tabarta was proposed by the BNM and was backed by the majority of MPs. She is to replace deputy governor Ion Prodan, whose mandate expired on October 5. Tabarta has assured the parliamentarians she will contribute to ensuring Moldova's economic stability, specifying the country is not stricken by the world financial crisis turmoil. Born in 1970 in Regina Maria village of Soroca, Emma Tabarta is a specialist in banking and accounting, a doctor of economy. She has been employed by the National Bank and private banks and her last position was chairwoman of the board of ICS “Business Investitii pentru toti” SA.
