By his coming to this world, God shows us an example of love and forgiveness, His Holiness Vladimir

“The birth of our Savior Jesus Christ gives us an example and encourages us to think with joy about the love shown by God to us. He hasn’t abandoned us. The man fell and God comes to help him stand up. The man distanced himself, but God comes closer and gives power to become sons of God to those who accept him,” says the message of His Holiness Vladimir, the Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and all Moldova disseminated on the occasion of the Nativity, IPN reports.

His Holiness Vladimir notes that by his coming to this world, God shows us an example of love and forgiveness. God teaches us how to love by making sacrifices and how to forgive and live in harmony and unity. “During the times we live, it is very important to learn this lesson of God’s love ‘that was born in the manger’. Our souls and hearts should be now the manger in which love, mercy and compassion were born”.

He reminds that the Nativity is the begging of reconciliation between the man and God, of spiritual renaissance and is actually the basis of Christian existence. The incarnation of God shows to the whole mankind the love and endless kindness of the Trinity towards the world.

“During these holy and salvaging days, when we announce the coming of our God and Savior to earth by the traditional carol, our Holy Church urges us to continue doing good things and cultivating love for the close ones, offering support to the sick, solace to the sad, food to the hungry and to share out our love for God, the kind and humble.”

The Orthodox Christians following the old calendar observe Christmas Eve today and prepare to observe Christmas on January 7.
