The director of SRL “Domulterra” Aliona Mandatii and director of “StarNet” Alexandru Machedon, in a news conference at IPN, made a call to managers, businesspeople and ordinary people to support candidate for President Andrei Nastase. “We do this not for subsequent favors. We do it for our country and our children,” stated Alexandru Machedon.
The two entrepreneurs stated that the illegalities committed by the current government, the banking frauds, the economic decline and poverty made them join the protest movement. “We became involved from the very beginning and supported the protests morally, physically and even financially. We identified ourselves with the thousands of people who want to change things in the country and to stop the oligarchic depravity. We cannot remain indifferent when we see that the crisis deepens, the people continue to go abroad to look for a job, the businesses fail and the investors bypass Moldova, while those who are in power rob banks, embezzle the foreign exchange reserves and steal from the people’s pockets,” said the director of “StarNet”.
The company directors said they support Andrei Nastase’s program concerning the socioeconomic development of Moldova, which contains steps for reforming the economy, stimulating local and foreign investment and private initiatives. These are real steps that will lead to economic recovery, creation of well-paid jobs, motivation of young people not to leave the country, increase of pensions and salaries, improvement of living standards and, consequently, to the return home of the thousands of Moldovans.
“We are an easy prey for the system only when we are divided. But when we are many and united, the regime cannot defeat us. We are a part of this impoverished and offended people. We cannot remain simple spectators. We must become involved and support the people’s President and must lay the foundations for changes,” says a statement signed by businesspeople.
For her part, Aliona Mandatii said a number of volunteers will soon travel to the most isolated parts of the country to tell the people how things stand. These activities do not represent campaigning. They will just say who is to blame for the current situation in the country.
