Businessmen submit suggestions on budgetary-fiscal policy for next year

The employers will meet with representatives of the government to discuss the budgetary-fiscal policy for next year. The businessmen plead against the rise in the health insurance contribution and ask redistributing the social insurance contribution so that one percent from employers is transferred to employees.

The head of the National Employers Confederation of Moldova Leonid Cerescu has told IPN that the employers remain firm on the position that the health insurance contribution shouldn’t be raised by 0.5% for the employer and by 0.5% for the employee. The draft budgetary-fiscal policy for next year envisions that both the employers and employees will pay monthly by 4% of the salary for health insurance.

Another request of the employers is to exclude the obligation for the employers to pay for the first five days of temporary incapacity for work. If this obligation is maintained, the special insurance contribution should be redistributed. Now the employer pays 23%, while the employee 6%. If the proposal is accepted, the employers will pay 22%, while the employees 7%.

The budgetary-fiscal policy for next year is to be adopted by the end of this year. The authorities aim to debate it publicly by end-November. The consultations start on November 19.
