The three buses with about 240 Moldovans who were stuck at the border between France and Germany set off to Moldova on April 27.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, Anastasia Nani, of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, said that Moldova’s Embassy in Berlin made the necessary approaches to the German authorities. As a result, a sanitary corridor was created and the buses headed for the border with Austria under escort. Also, the German authorities were to contact the Austrian authorities so as to facilitate the Moldovans’ crossing.
Anastasia Nani also said that representatives of Moldova’s Embassy are to take measures to ensure the passing of the three buses through Hungary and Romania.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said the Moldovans who are outside the country and want to return home should take the plane, namely the charter flights approved by the Commission for Exceptional Situations. He noted there are signals that many Moldovans fell into the trap of opportunists operating in the bus transportation sector. Moldovans from France and Poland who decided to return home bought tickets from tourism firms that do not work in Moldova.
