Bus registered in Moldova overturns in Romania, passenger dies

A person died and another six were hurt after a bus registered in Moldova overturned near Mărășești, between Haret and Modruzeni of Romania’s Vrancea County, in the evening of November 19. The Vrancea Inspectorate for Emergencies said the bus with a Moldovan license number was coming from Italy and was heading for Chisinau, IPN reports.

According to the Inspectorate, there were 11 passengers and three drivers on the bus. A seriously hurt person and five persons who suffered minor injuries were taken to the hospital.

The Vrancea Traffic Police preliminary determined that the GPS made the bus deviate from the E85 highway to a secondary road towards Modruzeni. At a dangerous turn, the driver lost control of the vehicle and this overturned in a ditch.

According to the Government’s press service, Prime Minister Pavel Filip instructed the officials in charge to offer all the necessary support to the persons involved in the accident and their families. The Government will cover the costs for repatriating the woman who died in the accident in Romania.
