Bus carrying Moldovans crashes in Romania: three children, one adult killed

A bus carrying 36 passengers from Turkey to Chisinau has overturned in the Romanian county of Braila, killing four people, including three children. MFA spokesperson Ana Taban has told IPN all the passengers were Moldovan citizens.

The bus overturned Wednesday morning on E87 near the village of Baldovinesti. The bus, registered in Turkey and driven by a Turkish national, was running on a regular route from Istanbul to Chisinau via Bucharest.

It was raining heavily when the bus skidded off the wet road and hit two traffic signs before overturning.

About 20 people have been admitted to hospital, including 5 in critical condition. The passengers who escaped with light injuries will be transported to Chisinau.

It was reported that 15 ambulances and rescue service crews, from both Braila and the neighboring county of Galati, participated in the rescue operation.
