Bureau for Diaspora Relations announces new edition of contest intended for diaspora students

The Bureau for Diaspora Relations of the State Chancellery invites the students from the diaspora to take part in the 25th edition of contest “Inheritance”. Submissions will be accepted until April 25, IPN reports.

The contest will take place at the Theoretical Lyceum “Stefan Holban” of Carpineni commune of Hancesti district and will include three sections: History of Romanians, History of Romanian Literature and Diaspora.

The contest is open to ninth-tenth graders studying at lyceums in Moldova, Romania, Ukraine (Cernauti) and the diaspora. These must present research works on the chosen theme on at least ten typed or printed pages. Each participant can send at most one work in each of the three sections of the contest. The works can be submitted to concursul.mostenire@gmail.com.

By 20 finalists in the three sections will present the works orally in May. The announced prized are: a trip to France (I place), a trip to Romania (II place) and a trip through Moldova (III place). Another five participants in each category will receive sets of books. Furthermore, there will be provided special awards for the most original works. All the awardees will get books and magazines.
