Bulgaria will share with the Republic of Moldova its experience in the area of European Integration. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Andrei Stratan and his Bulgarian counterpart Ivailo Kalfin signed on Monday, May 29, in Chisinau a cooperation Memorandum for achieving this goal. Stratan declared, at a joint press conference that the Memorandum is not only determining the activity areas of MFAEI, but also represents all the cooperation area which could be launched by signing this document and which will impulse the authorities and the state institutions to establish cooperation relationships with colleagues from Bulgaria. It is a very important document for the Republic of Moldova which will allow to use the experience and the integration distance covered by Bulgaria, mentioned Stratan. The Moldovan Foreign Affairs Minister thanked his Bulgarian counterpart for the position of his state in settling down the Transnistrian conflict and for the continuous help offered by Sofia to Chisinau in implementing the Moldova-EU action plan. The experience of Bulgaria which will join EU on January 1, 2007 is very important for Moldova, ended the minister. Ivalo Kalfin, the vice prime-minister and minister of foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Bulgaria, declared that the visit to Chisinau confirms the good bilateral relationships between Moldova and Bulgaria and offers the possibility to examine closer these relationships. Referring to the process of European Integration, the Bulgarian official said it is very complex. He mentioned that Bulgaria is ready to share all the experience, positive accomplishments but also the mistakes made, so Moldova could avoid them. Bulgaria continues to support all the programs regarding the European Integration, mentioned he. The Bulgarian Minister said that the position of his country on the Transnistrian problem regards the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova. “Recently positive evolutions in this process were registered, fact which shows that Moldova together with the international community will manage to go forward in settling the Transnistrian conflict. This is the first official visit of a Bulgarian minister of Foreign affairs to Chisinau. Within the visit, the head of the Bulgarian diplomacy will meet with the president of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin, prime-minister Vasile Tarlev and the president of the Commision for foreign affairs and European Integration of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Sergiu Stati.
