Bulgaria is ready to provide assistance to Moldova if Russia stops supplying it with gas from January 1, 2025, Bulgarian Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov announced. In an interview with Bulgarian media, Malinov said that about a month ago, the two countries signed an agreement on actions in case of a possible crisis, IPN reports.
"We are permanently in contact with the Ministry of Energy of Moldova. So, they can count on us. We are ready to support them with secure access by providing access to both liquefied natural gas and through Bulgargaz, when they ask for help," said the Bulgarian official.
The Russian company Gazprom last Saturday announced that from January 1, 2025, it will reduce the amount of gas supplied to the Republic of Moldova to zero.
