Buiucani Court judge investigated for unjust enrichment

A judge of the Buiucani Court is suspected of unjust enrichment. At the request of acting prosecutor general Dumitru Robu, the Superior Council of Magistracy authorized searches at the judge’s home. The Council also suspended the judge from post.

“We confirm that the acting prosecutor general asked the SCM to allow carrying out searches at a judge. The request was granted and an investigation will be therefore conducted. After this is finished, we will provide more details. The identity of the judge cannot be revealed given that these are personal data and also in order not to violate the presumption of innocence,” Mariana Cherpec, press officer of the Prosecutor General’s Office, has told IPN.

TV 8 channel reported that the given judge is Aureliu Postică. “Aureliu Postică owns two apartments and in the last few years had built a luxury house in Durlești. He managed to gain money from an Austrian investment fund and to make savings that he deposited in bank accounts in the Republic of Moldova. The family’s revenues primarily derive from the business of his wife who runs two fiscal and legal consulting firms,” said the source.
