The building of a store located in the center of Chisinau caught fire in the evening of May 25. Press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Liliana Puscasu has told IPN that the building is situated on Mitropolit Varlaam St in Centru district of Chisinau. No one was hurt in the fire.

The press officer said the phone call to 901 was received at about 9:40pm. Fifteen firefighting vehicles with 60 firemen travelled to the scene. The fire was localized at approximately 22:40pm and was fully extinguished close to midnight.

According to preliminary reports, the flames engulfed the roof of the two-story building on an area of over 300 square meters. The roof and things on the second floor were destroyed. The first floor was not affected.

All the circumstances and the cause of fire are to be determined by the Experimental Anti-fire Lab.
