Budget revenues on the rise
A sum of 5.568 billion lei was collected into the national public budget over January-March 2010, by 700 million lei more than in the first quarter of last year, said Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The revenues to the state budget rose by 7.2%, to the budgets of the territorial-administrative units – by 2.4%, to the state social insurance budget – by 1.7%. Only the collections into the mandatory health insurance funds decreased by 8%.
The national public budget deficit in the first quarter of this year was 912 million lei, up about 200 million compared with the same period last year (the deficit for 2010 fixed in the memorandum with the IMF is 4.64 billion lei – e.n).
Veaceslav Negruta said the Customs Service overfulfilled the collections plan for the first quarter by 2%, while the collections of the Tax Service are slightly lower than in January-March 2009.
“We established that some of the heads of the local tax inspectorates did not fulfill their duties. After these authorities and the structure of the State Main Tax Inspectorate were changed, the situation has improved,” the minister said.
The revenues to the state budget this March increased by 51.7% on the same month last year.
