BSEC foreign ministers come together in Chisinau

Chisinau on June 18 hosts the meeting of the Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers of the Member States of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) in connection with the handing over by Moldova of the BSEC presidency, held in January – June, to Romania, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

The meeting will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman, as the chairwomen-in-office of the Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers. The opening of the event will be attended by Head of Parliament Andrian Candu and BSEC Secretary General, Ambassador Victor Tvircun.

The officials will discuss the accomplishments of Moldova during its presidency of the BSEC, the socioeconomic development of the member states and the developments in the region. At the end of the event, a ceremony will be held to hand over the BSEC presidency to Romania for the next six months.

The meeting will take place at the Palace of the Republic, starting at 9:30am. At 1pm, Natalia Gherman, Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu and Victor Tvircun will give a news conference.

The BSEC member states are Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Serbia.
