Bronze Bells for promoting access to information
NGO “Acces-Info” Center has awarded 6 Bronze Bells for continuity and courage in promoting the access to information. The event took place during the VIIth edition of the Right to Know Days, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“It's a real trophy for us”, said Victoria Bernic, director of Ungheni District Public Library and one of the winners.
The other 5 Bronze Bells have been awarded to Val Butnaru, head of Jurnal Trust Media, Alexandru Postica, lawyer of “Promo Lex” Civic Association, Alexandru Cantar, director of the Committee for Freedom of the Press, Leon Antohi, project manager for the Council of Europe and to the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives “Viitorul”.
“Acces-Info” Center began offering prizes for promoting the access to information in 2004. Some of the previous Bronze Bells winners are Victor Puscas, judge of the Constitutional Court (2009), Valeriu Turea, head of MAEIE's press service (2008) and currently ambassador in Portugal, Professor Mihai Guzun, USM Journalism Chair (2008) and jurist Eugeniu Ribca (2006).
The VIIth edition of the Right to Know Days is taking place between September 27 and October 3.
