Broadcasting authority to distribute another four TV channels

The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) today made available to interested broadcasters four TV channels covering different parts of Moldova. The four channels, in Mandresti (Telenesti), Criuleni, Straseni and Leova have been offered by the Ministry of Information Development and are not use by any broadcaster at present. BBC member Valeriu Frumusachi suggested that the licence for the use of these frequencies should be granted to a single broadcaster for building a network. Frumusachi argued that the move would come in line with the BCC’s 2007-2010 Strategy on covering the national territory with audiovisual services. With the proposal accepted, experts are yet to examine the technical possibility of setting up such a network.
