British minister for Europe welcomes implementation of the joint declaration of Ukraine and Moldova regarding customs regime
British minister for Europe, Douglas Alexander, welcomes implementation of the joint declaration of Ukraine and Moldova regarding customs regime, according to report of British Embassy in Chisinau.
The minister noted that “United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland welcomes the implementation of the joint declaration of Ukraine and Moldova of 30 December 2005. We pay a special attention to this agreement and the contribution it will have for the integrity of discussion in format 5+2 and further success regarding the frozen conflict of Transnistria. The agreement is vital for transparency and a better control of the external border of a country that soon will become neighbour of the European Union.”
Douglas Alexander mentioned as well „United Kingdom regrets a lot the current blockade imposed by Transnistria along the border with Ukraine and hopes from the bottom of its heart that this disagreement will be solved quickly. We, together with our partners of USA and EU, continue to be engaged in resolving the conflict and hope to re-start the negotiations with all participants on 5 April.”
