British Government to offer Moldova necessary expertise and assistance in vital fields of national economy
The British Government will offer to Moldova the necessary expertise and assistance in the vital fields of the national economy, UK Minister for Europe Geoff Hoon stated at a meeting with the prime deputy prime-minister, Zinaida Greceanii. He is paying a work visit to Moldova on November 30 – December 2.
According to Geoff Hoon, Moldova must continue promoting reforms for this to happen. The discussion of the officials grounded on issues related to bilateral cooperation and European perspectives. Grecianii also met with the representatives of the House of Lords of the British Parliament.
Zinaida Grecianii familiarised the British authorities with the reforms promoted in the economic and social fields, the progress as regards the economic growth and reduction of poverty, the need for the external support in order to overcome economic shocks and to accelerate reforms. The agenda also included a series of bilateral meetings with the representatives of DFID, of the Office of British PM, with the representatives of business community.
Following the visit to London, the Moldovan official will pay a one-day visit to Ireland.
