In the Transnistrian region, bread grew more expensive on January 1. Prices were increased by 10-15 Transnistrian kopecks. The price of a loaf of bread rose at most by 45 kopecks (the equivalent of about 0.40 lei), IPN reports, quoting media from the left bank of the Nistru.
According to the quoted source, on January 1, the price of first-quality bread grew by 15 kopecks, of high-quality bread - by 40 kopecks. The long bread roll is now by 45 kopecks more expensive. The price of buns increased by 5-10 kopecks.
Representatives of the Tiraspol Bakery Products Factory said that the price increases are not related to the gas crisis and the end of the supply of gas, but is due to the rise in the price of raw materials. "Previously, the yeast was purchased from Ukraine, but now it is brought from Chisinau. Salt is also imported," the Transnistrian press reported.
The bakery in Tiraspol is working as usual. For now, it uses the gas that remained in the pipes, but is ready to switch to electric furnaces, the press in the Transnistrian region reported.
