Braghis says accusations made against him are inventions

Dumitru Braghis, the president of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), during a news conference announced that Iurie Bolboceanu and Dumitru Godoroja have been excluded from the party, Info-Prim Neo reports. The party's administration argued that the two members violated the statutes of the PSD, undermining thus the authority of the party. Dumitru Braghis told the reporters that certain persons negotiate a possible merger with other parties without having a mandate for this. He refereed to a merger memorandum signed earlier by the leader of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu and Iurie Bolboceanu, as president of the PSD's National Council. “At a recent meeting, the National Council rejected the memorandum by a majority of votes,” Braghis said. The Council ascertained that many of the members of the party are not yet ready to hold a dialogue on the merger with other parties. Braghis refuted the assertions that Nicolae Chernyi, who went into politics recently, would take over the party. “I have earlier invited a number of persons to join the party, including the administration, but no decision was yet made. I can given some names – the rector of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova Grigore Belostecinic, the former Foreign Minister Andrei Startan and others.” Attending the news conference, Iurie Bolboceanu and Dumitru Godoroja made serious accusations against the party's leader. “Under the PSD's statutes, the term in office of president Dumitru Braghis expired on December 22. Furthermore, I heard Mister Braghis speaking on the phone with Bogdan Tardea, who is a member of the Bureau. He was trying to convince Tardea to submit an application informing about his withdrawal from the party's administration body, signing it with an earlier date. Thus, his absence from the meeting would have been motivated and the decisions made at that meeting would have been legal,” said Bolboceanu. Iurie Bolboceanu also said that he leader of the PSD tried to persuade his colleagues to accept the former PSD member Eduard Musuc as president of the Municipal Council as Braghis took 1 million euros for this. “Braghis also prejudiced the party when he made public the proposal to rent out Transnistria, when he sold places in the electoral list and suggested holding a referendum to dismiss Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca without taking into account the administration's recommendations.” Dumitru Braghis rejected the accusations, saying they were elementary inventions.
