The State Weather Service has issued a code yellow heat warning for this weekend, Friday included, with temperatures predicted to go up to 33 degrees Celsius.

During the next three days, in northern and central Moldova temperatures at night will range from 16 to 19 degrees, and daytime temperatures from 28 to 31 degrees. In the south, lows will average 21 degrees, and highs will reach 33 degrees.

On Friday and Saturday, thunderstorms are predicted in the northern and central areas, with rainfall to continue into the first half of next week. Temperatures will gradually decrease to 21-24 degrees by next Thursday.

A week ago, the Emergencies Inspectorate put up tents in Chisinau, Comrat, Ungheni, Hincesti, and Causeni to assist the public during the heatwave.
