Boris Sava won gold in the Veteran World Wrestling Championships that were held in Bulgaria during October 9-15. He emerged victorious in the 62 weight class, category D, IPN reports.
Boris Sava scored four victories in Plovdiv city: 10-0 with Hungary’s Istvan Kleber, 4-0 with Mohammadreza Ahmad Jafarloo of Iran, 2-0 with Saidmagomed Masiev of Russia and 4-0 with Bulgaria’s Ivan Nikolov Conov, in the final.
Victor Graur won bronze in the 100 kg class, category E. In the quarterfinals, he beat Sweden’s Ari Ensio Markkola 6-0, in the semifinals defeated Daniel Boone Studenic of the U.S. 1-2 and in the match for the bronze medal won against Battur Badamgarav of Mongolia 4-1.
Victor Graur also competed in the Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships, where he also won bronze in category E. In the qualifying round, he was defeated by the future champion Miroslaw Wieczorkiewicz of Poland, while in the match for bronze he beat Russia’s Iurii Diukov 3-1.
