The Border Police will be able to use easily camouflaged vehicles lichen khaki in color in the process of investigating multiple situations of risk to border security, especially in the context of the war in Ukraine. Currently, the Border Police use blue and white vehicles, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs published for public consultations a draft amendment to the regulations regarding general requirements for equipping priority vehicles and special vehicles. “The use of lichen khaki means of transport for state border surveillance will significantly contribute to masking actions in the process of preventing cross-border crimes, such as smuggling and illicit trafficking, by increasing the capacity to operate discreetly and detect illegal activities without being noticed,” says the draft amendment.
The document provides that the General Carabineer Inspectorate, which currently uses white and red cars, will also be able to use black cars with red reflective strips. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, these vehicles are necessary for the fulfillment of functional duties by the servicemen of “Scorpion” Special Purpose Battalion for restoring public order, combating terrorism and conducting special interventions.
Also, the Ministry of Internal Affairs proposes that the cars of the General Inspectorate for Migration should be equipped with special sound and light signaling means so that they can be used in escort missions.
