Border Police receive lot of equipment for responding to urgent needs

The Border Police was offered a lot of equipment and units of transport for extending the capacities to respond to emergency situations. This is designed to increase the resilience potential for securing Moldova’s and the EU’s borders, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Border Police.

The equipment (mobile document readers, computers) was provided with financial support from the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration of the U.S. Department of State, the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Moldova and the Council of Europe Development Bank as part of three joint projects implemented by the International Organization for Migration Mission to Moldova.

Acting deputy head of the Border Police Diana Salcuțan said that given the support of the development partners, the subdivisions of the Border Police managed to ensure human treatment of refugees and third persons who came from Ukraine, strengthening the capacities to ensure the efficient management of the state border.

For their part, the development partners appreciated the made efforts and the commitment shown by the Border Police in the management of the state border in times of crisis, including humanitarian one. They assured of their openness and support in this regard.
