A girl aged 13 was saved from rape by an employee of the Border Police in the evening of November 14. The policeman, who was out of work, travelled through a village of Taraclia district when he heard the girl’s cries, IPN reports.
According to the Border Police, the aggressor tried to hide amid darkness, but was shortly caught by the border police officer who informed the Taraclia Police Inspectorate.
The preliminary investigations showed the aggressor is an ex-detainee who served time in jail for similar offences in 2004-2012 and 2012-2017.
At this stage, the police do not provide information about the girl’s family and the circumstances of the attempted rape. The man was arrested for rape attempt for 72 hours initially.
