An employee of the Border Police perished in a traffic accident on the Chisinau-Hâncești highway in the evening of October 8. His car collided with a minibus owned by the Chisinau company “Green Areas Association”.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the General Police Inspectorate Mariana Bețivu said the 43-year-old man was traveling from Baurci village of Ceadâr-Lunga district to the municipality of Chisinau. As the road was wet, he lost control of the car and the vehicle collided head-on with the minibus. The man was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state and died in several hours.
Four passengers from the minibus aged between 43 and 55 were also taken to the hospital for being offered medical care. There were 18 persons on the minibus in total.
Border Police press officer Raisa Novitski has told IPN that the man was outside working hours when the accident occurred. He worked as the head of the Valea Perjei Border Police Section of the South Regional Division. He entered the Border Police in 2017, but had served with the Ministry of the Interior since 2001.
