Border Police of Moldova and Ukraine to cooperate more intensely

The Border Police Department of Moldova and the Border Guards Service of Ukraine have signed a plan of action for 2013, which envisions the creation of joint contact points for operative exchange of information, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We projected a number of border supervision and control activities for next year. We will exchange experience in the area of professional training and will work together to facilitate the transportation of persons and goods. Besides inspecting, we must also prevent and combat crime,” said Dorin Purice, the head of the Border Police Department. The Border Guards Service’s head Nikolai Litvin said that he is for developing the normative base of the bilateral relations, intensifying the exchange of operative information and experience in industry and human resources management. According to the Border Police Department of Moldova, the number of persons and units of transport that crossed the Moldovan-Ukrainian border in the first nine months of this year increased by 4% and 1% respectively, compared with the same period last year. The number of persons arrested for illegally crossing the state border or attempts to cross it fell by 9%.
