A noble deer was rescued from the waters of the Prut River by border guards of the Cuhnești Border Police Sector. It happened in the afternoon of December 1, after locals informed that the animal got stuck in the mud, a few meters from the shore.
A patrol and an intervention team of the Cuhnesti Border Police Sector went to the scene. The operation to free the deer lasted for several hours and was hampered by the steep relief and the presence of the remains of an old bridge in the area. However, the animal was pulled out unharmed to the shore.
According to representatives of the Cuhnești Border Police Sector, it was the first intervention of this type carried out by their team. The gesture of the border guards was appreciated by the local community, which transmitted the information and allowed the animal to be rescued.
