Political analyst Igor Botan is of the opinion that the Public Opinion Barometer (BOP) must make the members of the Alliance for European Integration (AIE) think because, compared to the years under the Communist government, the number of those unhappy with the direction in which things are going in Moldova increased, Info-Prim Neo reports. Igor Botan remarked during Fabrika talk-show on Publika TV that under the Communist government, the number of those who thought the country was moving in a wrong direction varied between 50% and 60%, while now the figures oscillate between 70% and 80%. The analyst thinks that the survey results might be reflected in the outcome of parliamentary elections. The talk-show participants agreed that a third political force might appear in Moldova at the next elections because the people aren’t satisfied neither by the governing alliance, nor by the performance of the opposition, and might punish both sides. The Institute of Public Policies published the results of the Public Opinion Barometer on Tuesday, November 20. According to the survey, the current four parliamentary parties would be the ones that would clear the electoral threshold if elections were held next Sunday. 24.6% of respondents would vote for PCRM, 22% for PLDM, 11.2% for PDM and 9.1% for PL. Compared to the survey in May, PCRM suffered a drop of 3% and PL of 4%. PDM and PLDM, on the contrary, gained 3% each.
