More than 15,000 book titles have been displayed at the 19th International Children’s and Youth Book Fair at “Moldexpo”. The children who came to the exhibit received this year’s surprise - book “The treasure” by Spiridon Vangheli as a present.

Director of the National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga” Claudia Balaban has told IPN that this year’s fair is dedicated to the late poet Grigore Vieru. The event involves 150 publishing houses from nine countries. There will be launched a record number of 160 books.

The fair includes an exhibition of books printed in the country and abroad, an exhibition of book illustrations in the original, book launches and presentations, the communication session “Library – area of communication and intercultural education”, the forum of laureates of the contest “Tell the tale further” and other interactive activities for children.

“I hope that this year as well the visitors will find the book they need, want or have been looking for,” stated Claudia Balaban.

Opened on April 23, the fair can be visited until April 26.
