Hundreds of children from Chisinau 'have assaulted' the 13th edition of the International Book Salon for children and youth hosted by Moldexpo Center. Any child visiting the exhibition is given a book, which got the Grand Prix last year – “Sfredelus” by Aureliu Busuioc. “Unlike other exhibitions where you pay to enter, we give books to children,” said Claudia Balaban, the director of the Children National Library “Ion Creanga”, an organizer of the salon, Info-Prim Neo reports. Academician Mihai Cimpoi, the president of the Writers Union from Moldova, has welcomed the book salon. “It conveys the same joy of getting together the ones writing, publishing books and the little readers,” Mihai Cimpoi says. The awards traditional handed at this salon will be given on April 4. The name of the winner of the Grand Prix – the Book of the Year -- has not been made known. The awards “Ion Creanga” and “Igor Vieru” will go to writer Aureliu Busuioc and painter Isai Carmu. This year, the salon instituted a new poetry prize “Grigore Vieru”. 106 book titles are presented, being published in Moldova, Romania, China, the USA, Belarus and Britain. The books from the expo will sell at prices 10% - 30% lower. It will be on 4 days.
