The children’s book “Stories of Grandpa Alexandru” written by Alexandru Placinta was launched at the National Library of Moldova in Chisinau on May 3. The book contains 30 educative stories and was issued in 500 copies that will reach the national libraries, IPN reports.
Author Alexandru Placintan said he wrote the 30 stories during ten years. These are educative and address such issues as the struggle against laziness, greediness, wickedness, inattention and other negative qualities. He is “Grandpa Alexandru” and his stories were not necessarily inspired by the real life.
Virginia Vangheli, teacher at the Chisinau Theoretical Lyceum “Stefan cel Mare”, said it is important for the children to read stories since young as this way they learn the art of speaking and learn to express themselves and to think. The moral of the stories cultivates positive qualities in children.
The attending students of schools based in Chisinau and the neighboring towns said they read stories because these have a moral and teach them many positive things and help them to enrich their vocabulary.
Veronica Bantas, head of the National Library’s Marketing and Sociocultural Communication Service, said this event is unique because the author not only writes books, but also illustrates them. The themes treated by the author educate the young generation in the most favorable way.
The same day, there was launched the children’s book “Stories from the land of happy children” written by Petre Craciun, who is now in Romania.
