The bones of a man who went missing seven years ago were recently discovered in the man’s yard. The police arrested the then female partner of the man, who is suspected of murdering him and of hiding the crime, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the crime was committed in Larguta village of Cantemir district in the summer of 2008. When he was killed, the man was 34. The 32-year-old suspect from Carpesti, Cantemir admitted her guilt. She said that on the night of the crime, when she was at the place of her partner, the two started to quarrel after drinking alcohol. The man ultimately hit the woman. When he fell asleep, the woman hit him with an ax in the head.

To hide the crime, the woman took the clothes off the man and burned them. She then buried the body in the yard and informed the man’s relatives that he went to Chisinau and didn’t return.

The suspect faces up to 20 years in jail or life for deliberate murder.
