Bones of at least 70 people found in Tiraspol

The skeletons of at least 60-70 persons were discovered during works performed near the gunpowder depot of the Tiraspol Fortress. Medical examiners established that the persons were aged between 25 and 40 when they died and most of these were women, IPN reports.

According to the local press, the bones belong to victims of the repression of 1936-1938.

Members of the research crew said they identified over 200 bullets at the scene and this is the most terrifying find. Some of the craniums had holes in them.

After these are examined, the human remains will be buried in a common grave.
