The passengers of the international Chisinau-Moscow train were evacuated on October 26 after a man called 112 and said a bomb was planted on the train and this transported narcotic substances. The competent services carried out checks and established it was a hoax.
Press officer of the General Police Inspectorate Mariana Bețivu has told IPN that the call was made by a man aged 56 from Strășeni at about 4pm. At that moment, the Chisinau-Moscow train was to leave the station in Pârlița village of Ungheni district. The train could continue its way to Chisinau only after inspections. The man aged 56 faces a fine of 27,500 lei to 42,500 lei.
Spokeswoman for the state-run enterprise Moldova’s Railways Eliza Botnari has told IPN that the passengers were evacuated for the period of the checks . The train reached the destination with a delay of over two hours.
