The passengers and personnel of the Chisinau International Airport were evacuated from the terminal after the Border Police received an email saying a bomb was planted in the airport’s building. The check-in was temporarily stopped and thus some of the flights were delayed, IPN reports.
Head of the press service of the Border Police Raisa Novitski said that at about 3:30pm on February 7, the police of the border crossing point “hisinau International Airport” received an unsigned email message reading that the airport was mined and that a particular amount of money should be provided. The police didn’t specify the amount.
All the response teams of the specialized services of the Ministry of the Interior and prosecution officers of the Border Police are taking measures to identify the person who sent the email.
