An unknown person on Tuesday called the emergency service 112 and informed that on the Bus Station platform in central Chisinau, there is a white minibus in which there is an explosive device. The bomb squad thoroughly checked 53 transport units and finally announced that it was a bomb hoax, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the call was made from outside the country and is part of the hybrid attack staged in the country. “Such missions are ordinary for us and are part of the routine work of the Police, but the consequences of these unfounded calls are multiple and we refer here to resources, regardless of their form. The immense inconvenience caused to citizens in such cases cannot be excluded,” said the Inspectorate.

Under the legislation, the person guilty of such a crime faces a fine of up to 42,500 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or at most two years in prison.
