Bomb threat against Buiucani Court turned out to be a hoax

Update: The bomb scare targeting the Buiucani Court of Chisinau was a hoax as no explosive devices were identified as a result of checks. The police said legal action was taken in this case, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the officers of the Offense Investigations Division of the Buiucani Police Inspectorate ordered a number of measures to identity the caller.

The police were informed about the bomb threat through the 112 Service at about 9am on Friday.  All the specialized services travelled to the scene for examinations, IPN reports.

At the beginning of April, the police announced that two detainees and a woman accomplice are investigated for bomb hoaxes. The young woman, at the request of the prisoners, since the start of this year had made five calls to make bomb threats against the Buiucani Court to the 112 Service for the purpose of obtaining the postponement of hearings.

Intentional misleading about an act of terrorism carries a fine of at most 42,500 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or up to two years in jail.
