The employees of the Chisinau City Hall could not enter their offices in the morning of January 20 as an individual called the police last night and informed that a bomb was planted in the building.
Contacted by IPN, the head of the City Hall’s Public Relations Division Vadim Branzaniuc said the employees weren’t allowed to enter the building and it’s not known when they will be allowed. The four entrances were blocked and the place is being examined by the police.
The head of the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir has told IPN that the call to 902 was made by a man close to midnight. A bomb squad is working on the scene. So far they have detected no suspect object.
An investigation is under way to identify the man who misinformed about the act of terrorism. He is liable to a fine of 4,000 to 10,000 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or up to two years in jail.
