The employees of the Ciocana branch of the Chisinau City Court and the visitors were evacuated on February 10 after a person informed that an explosive device was placed inside the building, IPN reports.

The Chisinau Police Division said the call to the court was made by a Russian speaking woman at about 11am. The specialized services travelled to the scene. The police fenced the area and evacuated the people from the building.

As a result of searches, the bomb squad didn’t find any explosives. Criminal proceedings over intentional misleading about an act of terrorism were instituted in this case. Steps are being taken to identify the author of the hoax call. The person faces a fine of 27,500 to 42,500 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or a maximum prison sentence of two years.
