The Moldova State University was last night the target of a bomb threat. Specialized services carried out checks in accordance with the protocols. The threat turned out to be a hoax, IPN reports.
The police were notified through the single emergency service 112. A man said that an explosive device was planted in the higher education institution located on Alexei Mateevici St in Chisinau. No suspicious or explosive objects were detected as a result of checks.
A criminal case was initiated over intentional misinformation about an act of terrorism. The perpetrator faces a fine of up to 42,500 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or up to two years in prison.
On Thursday evening, a bomb scare was also reported at the National Museum of History. The call to the emergency number 112 was also made by a man and the scare also turned out to be a hoax.
