Bomb alert: Two trains evacuated

Bomb alert on the Chisinau – Moscow train; Saturday, around 5:00am, Ukraine’s Border Guard Service sent information to the Otaci regional Border police Division claiming that there is a bomb on the train. The passengers were emergently evacuated in the Valcinet region, Ocnita district. Additionally, the passengers of the Moscow – Chisinau train were also evacuated, since the train was supposed to intersect with the aforementioned one, reports Info-Prim Neo. According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), immediately after receiving the call, the train was stopped. A bomb squad from the MoI police Division and from Traffic Police’s mobile group was dispatched to the scene. The specialists evacuated the passengers and proceeded to inspect the trains. According to preliminary investigations, the call was made from a number registered in Russia. The police believe that the owner of the phone card had the roaming service activated, and when dialing the emergency number the call was redirected to Ukraine, since the caller was close to the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. Presently, the MoI specialists are trying to confirm the validity of the alarm. Passengers were given medical attention, and if necessary, water and food.
