Bomb alert at Russian Embassy, Update
An unidentified man called the police this morning at about 10am, informing a bomb had been planted at the Russian Embassy located on Toma Ciorba St in Chisinau. The personnel have been evacuated and the building has been cordoned off.
[Update 12.35:] The head of the Ministry of the Interior's press office Chiril Motpan said no bomb was found inside the building. Steps are being taken to identify the anonymous caller. Motpan stated the Embassy's employees will return to work tomorrow, at about 10am.
A number of false bomb alerts have been issued this year – for the Chisinau International Airport, the Chisinau City Hall and other places. The police identified all the authors of the false warnings.
