Bogdan Zumbreanu proposed for post of NAC director

Bogdan Zumbreanu, who heads the General Prosecution Division of the National Anticorruption Center (NAC), will be presented to Parliament for being confirmed as director of the Center. The Parliament’s commission for appointments and immunities on December 12 interviewed the candidates and on December 13 decided who to propose for this post by an open vote, IPN reports.

Seven members of the commission voted for Bogdan Zumbreanu. The other three candidates gained no vote. The contest also involved Veaceslav Gutan, lecturer at the Police Academy “Stefan cel Mare”, Igor Carlashuc, head of the NAC’s General Operative Division, and Sava Maimescu, professor at the Public Law Department of the State University of Moldova.

The post of NAC director fell vacant after the term in office of Viorel Chetraru expired on October 25 this year. The term is of five years and reelection is excluded.
