Bogdan Țîrdea: Bloc ACUM tries to push PSRM towards alliance with PDM

The Bloc ACUM is trying to push the Party of Socialists towards an alliance with the Democratic Party, Socialist MP Bogdan Țîrdea stated in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel. According to him, by putting forward radical conditions, ACUM attempts to destroy the PSRM, IPN reports.

“They tried to provoke our repulsion so that we incline towards the Democrats and form this alliance and they could later destroy us together with the Democrats. They actually want to destroy us fully and to remove Vladimir Plahotniuc, Pavel Filip and Andrian Candu from the Democratic Party,” stated the MP.

He noted the PSRM also fears the Bloc ACUM would form a coalition with the PDM in the future given that they cooperated earlier. “We have such a fear and this fear is as justified as that of the Bloc ACUM in relation to us,” said Bogdan Țîrdea.

He noted the PSRM didn’t come to the meeting proposed by ACUM because the bloc’s conditions didn’t change and ACUM continues to seek all the prerogatives and wants only their proposals to be adopted. They didn’t see openness on the part of the MPs of ACUM at least as regards the PSRM’s proposals that refer to the social sphere. Therefore, the Socialists decided they do not have what to discuss with ACUM at present.

Political commentator Corneliu Ciurea said the Bloc ACUM is waiting for a kind of alliance between the PSRM and PDM. “This will make them remain in the opposition for four years and they will criticize this alliance. Even if the political players are involved in a kind of game, none of them wants snap elections,” he stated.

He noted the political parties should be given time to overcome the mutual attack barrier as the parties seriously attacked each other in the election campaign.

Socialist lawmakers didn’t show up for a discussion that MPs of the ACUM parliamentary group hoped to have on April 24. Representatives of the bloc said the PSRM demonstrated they aren’t ready to discuss seriously, noting the ball is now in the Socialists’ court and they are to decide if they will wait for two month until Parliament is dissolved or will do something of the own program.

One day earlier, the Party of Socialists reiterated its readiness to form working groups to discuss matters related to the election of Parliament leadership and examine legislative proposals from both sides. “But this can only happen if ACUM shows readiness to consider the formation of a stable governing coalition based on the proposals put forward by the PSRM National Council for the purpose of changing the current government system and avoiding snap elections”, stated Ion Ceban, the party’s chief ideologist.
