Bogdan Macovei is first Moldovan to enter Sochi competitions

Naturalized Romanian Bogdan Macovei is the first of Moldova’s Olympic squad who will become involved in the Sochi competitions. Competing in the Olympic Games for the third time, Macovei enters the sledding event on February 8, at 18.30.

“During training I cannot achieve the desired time as the ice on the track in Sochi is too soft for the blades of my sled,” Bogdan Macovei stated for IPN.

On February 9, Alexandra Kamenshchik enters the biathlon event. The other athlete born in Moldova Victor Panzaru competes in cross-country skiing on February 14. In a day, Alexandra Kamenshchik will also enter cross-country skiing. Naturalized Austrian Georg Lindner will compete last, in giant slalom, on February 16.

The Sochi Winter Olympic Games close on February 23.
