A separate body that will deal with the interests of the local public authorities (PLAs) will be set up as part of the “New Life” Movement. This will represent the voice of all the districts and of local elected officials, regardless of their political affiliation, MP Regina Apostolova, Șor Party heavyweight, stated in a news conference.
According to her, the body will facilitate communication between the representatives of LPAs and of these with the central authorities, international organizations and foreign partners. Among their priorities are the territorial-administrative reform that generates a number of questions, decentralization of power and financing of infrastructure projects and, in general, the development of infrastructure of each district in the country.
“The body will address issues and will identify solutions to them. Through this organization, we want the local administration to develop relations of partnership and to cooperate with international organizations, including the European Parliament,” said the MP.
“We decided to support the LPAs and to together lay the foundations of this body. We call on all the district heads, mayors, village, town and district councilors to join this project,” said Valeriu Muduc, a member of the Party of Communists.
The Movement “New Life” is coordinated by Ilan Șor, the leader of Șor Party. According to the constitution resolution, the goal of the civic movement is to unite all the opposition forces of the Republic of Moldova that do not agree with the current situation and are ready to put up resistance and fight against the current government.
