The body of a teenage boy was discovered not far from Sofia village of Drochia district. According to locals, the boy, who was together with a mate of his, climbed onto a pole and fell down.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Drochia Police Inspectorate Ina Banari said the boy was 16. No other details can be yet provided, including if the minor had signs of violence on the body or not. The call to the 112 Service was made slightly after 1am.

The boy was a ninth grader of the local secondary school. Teachers said they do not believe that he could have committed suicide as he was energetic and active. The teen, together with his two sisters, were raised by their grandmother as their mother died many years ago. Nothing is known about their father.

The police launched an investigation into this case.
