The body of a newborn was discovered floating on the lake in the Park “La Izvor” in Chisinau in the evening of April 10. This was found by volunteers who were cleaning up the area.

Press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Statihas told IPN that it was a baby girl and it is not yet known for how long the body stayed there. The body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Center for examination.

Legal action was taken and the police are to discover the identity of the whom who gave birth and to establish when she gave birth, when and why the child died and why the body was on the lake.
